Private hospital signs deal with county cricket club

Private consultants’ marketing is receiving a boost through a new deal with a county cricket club.

Circle’s Priory Hospital in Birmingham and Warwickshire County Cricket Club have agreed a three-year commercial partnership under which the hospital is the official ‘Private Hospital Partner’.

The deal will give Warwickshire cricket club’s medical and physiotherapy team access to the latest technology for MRI scans, X-rays, CT and ultrasound scans, plus consultancy support from specialists.

It gives the Priory Hospital pitch-side advertising at Edgbaston, a test match venue, plus web advertising, and headline partner role for a community day double-header on Saturday 8 June when Warwickshire’s Bears face Durham in the Vitality Blast 20-over game.

Priory Hospital executive director Silvie Adams said the hospital was looking forward to supporting Warwickshire County Cricket Club on and off the field as their official private hospital partner.

‘Having fast access to state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic services is essential to ensuring players can continue competing at the highest level of the domestic game. On behalf of colleagues and consultants at the hospital, we wish the Bears the very best of luck for the season ahead.’

Mid-game assessments

Warwickshire cricket club’s lead physiotherapist Gerhard Mostert said the partnership will allow him and his team to get fast access and quick diagnosis on player injuries.

He said: ‘The hospital’s location couldn’t be any better for us, so close to the stadium, as it means we can send players for an assessment on injuries mid-game if needed and get a diagnosis in a matter of minutes.

‘We might send players for scans up to 30 times a year; it’s an important part of our player care. Working closely with the Priory Hospital will help us manage medical conditions and our return-to-play plans for injured players.’

Ben Seifas, head of partnerships at Edgbaston, said Warwickshire members, Bears fans and staff would also benefit from a range of special healthcare offers through the club’s My Edgbaston portal.
