Learn how to submit data to transparency watchdog

By Robin Stride

Consultants in private practice have been invited to make a date with the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) if they still need to learn more about how they should be submitting information to the organisation.

As highlighted in Independent Practitioner Today’s May issue, private consultants – and hospitals – are being warned by the Competition and Markets Authority to ‘Fix  your failures – but do it quick!’

It has already given ‘name and shame’ publicity to providers for failing to fully comply with providing the data requirements of its Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014.

Now, another series of dates and times are being offered next month to consultants where they can clock in to virtual session events to review each of the processes required for adding and approving data to the PHIN portal.

The dates are:

  • Thursday 1 June 2023, 1-2pm;
  • Tuesday, 6 June 2023, 6-7pm;
  • Thursday, 8 June 2023, 1-2pm;
  • Monday, 12 June 2023, 1-2pm;
  • Thursday, 15 June 2023, 6-7pm;
  • Tuesday, 20 June 2023, 8-9am;
  • Thursday, 22 June 2023, 1-2pm;
  • Tuesday, 27 June 2023, 6-7pm;
  • Thursday, 29 June 2023, 8-9am.

PHIN said any consultants and/or their secretaries who may benefit from attending a session should make contact it at: consultants@phin.org.uk or call 0203 143 3177, quoting their GMC number.

Alternatively, they can visit the PHIN portal and book their place. They will be sent a link to join their chosen session.
