Free webinar on the McCloud pensions remedy
FREE WEBINAR: Your Essential Briefing: What is the McCloud Remedy?
Tuesday 22 November at 6.30pm for 25 minutes
There is nothing simple about the NHS pension and the ‘McCloud remedy’ further complicates matters, writes Patrick Convey, technical director with specialist financial planners Cavendish Medical.
When the 2015 NHS Pension Scheme was first introduced, older scheme members – those within ten years of retiring – were allowed to continue in their original 1995 or 2008 NHS sections.
In 2018, the Court of Appeal found this to be discriminatory against younger members in a case brought by judges (named McCloud) and firefighters. The Government agreed to redress this discrimination across all public sector pension schemes, including the NHS.
Cavendish Medical is launching our new ‘Essential Briefings’ webinars which take a short, sharp look at one important topic for each session. This webinar will explain what the McCloud remedy may mean for you and explain when and how you can choose to receive your ‘compensation’ benefits.
We will also explain when the legislation governing the McCloud remedy is due to be ready and what issues to look out for. This webinar will ensure you have all the facts to hand about this complex issue and how it relates to your annual allowance too.
Cavendish Medical provides specialist financial planning advice to medical professionals covering pensions, tax planning, savings and investments.
The webinar on Tuesday 22 November at 6.30pm will discuss these key topics:
- What is the McCloud Remedy?
- How might it impact my pension benefits?
- What are the choices of compensation benefits?
- When will I need to decide?
- What if I am retired, or intend to retire, earlier than October 2023?
- What will happen to my tax figures for the last few years?
