Covid hits opening of big private hospital

Covid-19 has been blamed for delaying the opening of London’s newest private hospital.

The Cleveland Clinic London has been due to open in January 2022, but when asked about progress, Independent Practitioner Today was told the pandemic had put the launch off more than two months.

A spokesman said: ‘Due to the ongoing and increasing impact of Covid-19 on construction and supply chain, we anticipate our Cleveland Clinic London Hospital will begin to see patients at the end of March of 2022.

‘The new opening date will enable us to provide the safest possible environment for patients to receive care and the best possible environment for caregivers to deliver care.’

The 184-bed, eight-storey, 325,000-square-foot building is at 33 Grosvenor Place, near Buckingham Palace.
