City of London diagnostic unit re-opens after refurb
Cromwell Hospital’s outpatient diagnostic unit in the City of London – Basinghall Clinic – has re-opened its doors following a refurbishment to enhance its services and environment.
This includes installing technology to provide a wide range of specialist care and support for patients.
The clinic, which is part of Bupa, has consulting rooms, a radiology suite with MRI, X-ray and ultrasound, and a treatment suite with a minor procedure room.
A new 3D mammography machine is due to be installed next month for patients to access a one-stop diagnostic breast clinic offering a fast-track pathway to further treatments at Cromwell Hospital, if needed.
There is also dedicated space to run Bupa’s health assessments, which include health checks, such as blood pressure, musculoskeletal review and a diabetes test, as well as advanced fitness testing and a mental health evaluation.
The clinic also provides private GP appointments.
Basinghall Clinic centre manager Danielle Sharp said: ‘Customers will be able to access state-of-the art technology, have appointments with leading consultants and discuss their health concerns, all under one roof.
‘We’re thrilled to be re-opening our doors again, ready for people returning to their workplaces in the City.’
The clinic can now provide a one-stop shop for health needs, including fast access to diagnostics and physiotherapy and on-site cardiac investigations, including ECGs, echocardiograms and wireless patch monitors.
Where further care is needed, onwards referrals to the Cromwell Hospital can be made for fast access to consultants across different specialties for treatment and complex care.
A dermatology service is also available at the clinic, where consultants can deliver minor procedures such as mole removal.
Other services and treatments include complex spinal services and orthopaedics, with new respiratory and urology services coming soon.
Bupa Health Services general manager Sarah Melia said: ‘We’re really looking forward to seeing customers again and helping them with their health concerns.’
